| Hey Everyone,
I have just started breeding Lipizzaners and having some trouble getting anything but white/dark bay/black colors- despite the amazing stallion donations from my riding pals. What gives? Is there any formula us newbs can use to get some color? It seemed so easy with paints/QH, I had spots/buckskins/paints all over the place, lol!
Thanks!!

| Selle Francais & Lipizzans seem to be a bit more difficult to get color on.. as frustrating as it sounds just keep breeding If you are interested I DO have a stud who seems to throw color on every foal (including a few SF mares) |

| you can cross-breed to other breeds if you want their colors or patterns. then you take a filly from the cross-breed and breed it back to a purbred stallion and you will once again have a purebred lipp.
this is cool because it lets us take advantages of everyone's studs instead of just those who breed lip. i have gotten a pretty white lipp mare that has very faint isabella spots using a crossbreed from a lip that is grey with isabella spots.
dunno if that's any help, but that's what i do. |
